This is the REI Pinnacle. As of opening day, it stands as the worlds largest permanent free standing climbing structure in the world. Located at the flagship REI in dowtown Seattle, The Pinnacle offers climbing of all levels and abilities. The only problem is getting a chance to climb the damn thing! The average wait time when it opened was at least 2 hours. Now that climbing has grown in popularity, you can't climb without a reservation. Really sucks. When you can climb its alot of fun. The climbs are about 2.5 to 3 stories high. Pretty damn good! Lynn Hill was there and set a route, I think it was rated at a 5.11d? Killer route. They never change the routes so if you like a route you can tackle it or another again sometime soon. |
