Sira drew the lucky straw, as far as planets in the sector go. The planet is along the only real direct route to the core worlds and is reasonably rich in natural resources. For this reason, Sira was established as the sector capital shortly after the sector was introduced to the galactic community several centuries ago.
The system's sun is a common yellow star, surrounded by a rather boring string of worlds - Sira being the only feature of note. The world is covered with lush woods and an intricate lake system - only one major ocean to speak of. Its a temperate world, with temperatures ranging on the cool side. Several cities dot the planet, linked by a intricate network of monorail tubes.
The worlds capital, Empire City was founded just shortly after settlers found their way planet side. However, even with several centuries to build, Empire City still maintains its natural, organic look. Short to mid sized buildings and large lush parks make urban dwelling pleasant - even on the outer rim.
Since the planet is the sector capital, there is a large amount of starship traffic moving through the system. In addition to the spaceport network system, Sira boasts a modern orbital platform, capable of dealing with most non-planet bound traffic needs. This platform is capable of handling up to a dozen light and medium freighters and several smaller capital ships (luxury liners and the like). The coreworld/rim passenger liner Nomadic Princess is the upper limit the facility can handle.
