Drighton's Terminus is a remote section of space, about as far away from the Republic as you can get. The main reason behind the isolated nature of the region is because of the colorful and impressive nebula that forms the backdrop of the sector. This nebula, the result of a series of mammoth stellar explosions billions of years ago, surrounds the sector on most sides. This leaves the sector physically removed from the rest of the galaxy. The nearest civilized world outside the sector is roughly four standard days away from the KDS Gateway station, the closest point to the Republic. Only a handful of safe hyperspace routes exit the system. A few more - unsafe but much faster, also exist. Few brave souls dare the nebula itself.

Although Drighton's Terminus has been in interstellar contact with the outside world for several centuries, there has been little official recognition with the Republic until recently. The area has no significant tactical or financial value military, and has largely been left alone by the Republic. It's only been recently that the Republic has been making an effort to incorporate Drighton's Terminus into the galactic society.

Unfortunately this long term disinterest by the Republic has opened up the space lanes to pirates, smugglers, thieves and criminals. Efforts by local planetary governments to clean up Drighton's terminus have met with limited results. Currently a joint effort between the regional governments, the Republic military and the Jedi Knights is underway, in an effort to bring order to this turbulent area.

There are over 70 planets suitable for life, but only a few dozen that contain life. There are over three dozen native life forms, with a handful actually having been advanced enough to achieve space travel. Humans have settled on roughly eleven other worlds, with several of those being full planetary civilizations. The rest are small outposts, research stations and other uncharted settlements.

Republic Forces: In addition to the various ground forces and embassies stationed throughout the sector, the Republic maintains two Victory Star Destroyers in the sector, the VSD Thunderstruck and the VSD Tempest. Supplementing these ships, the Trade Federation also has on station the Trade Federation Battleship Bountyful Endeavor. The Trade Federation is more looking out for pirate activity and illegal shipping than more interested in the common good of the sector, so it's unusual to see these ships working together. Of course the Republic has numerous smaller patrol craft, customs ships and Republic cruisers at it's disposal.

Planets and locations in the sector:
Dilga
The homeworld of a race of sublight conquering aliens

KDS Gateway
Located the closest towards the core of all the systems in the sector, this space station serves as a big truckstop.

Spiron's Moon
Frontier world - desert, but more like New Mexico instead of Tatooine. Very old west like- lawlessness, but not anarchy.

Thrax
The sector's dumping ground for most of their waste, junk and other toxic leftovers.

Sira
Sector capital - main jumping off point to the rest of the republic.

Ord Ibanna
Once a richly profitable gas mining and refining planet, now a popular course for swoop gangs and pod racers.

Xoanon
A large asteroid belt on the edge of the sector. Home to a major mining operation and a devious pirate gang.

Rillidon
Home of mid level tech conquered natives.

Des Sona
Hawaii like planet - mostly covered with water (about 85%) with the land masses being a tropical string of mid sized islands.

Thorwell
Civil war planet A - really doesn't like planet B. and has been scrapping for a long as either side can remember. They keep to themselves, but sometimes spill over into the galactic arena.

The planet is covered in an unusual goo like substance ranging anywhere from several inches deep to several feet. In warmer seasons, these form huge flowing oceans of muck, while in winter the goo hardens, expands and covers most of the planet. (much like a hot weather glacier)

Armaud Boo
Civil war planet B - Nobody remembers what the fight is about, they just whup ass out of tradition now. Both sides dislike the outside world. They're not as hostile as they are to each other, but they sure as hell ain't friendly.

Des Bramie
Big Metropolis planet. Loads of cities, trying to set the pace for the rest of the region. Coruscant lite.

Other Outstanding Features:
Dawson's hole -
Dawson's Hole is one of the largest black holes ever charted, roughly 120 kilometers across. Named after the scout who discovered the hole, the black hole is located at the end of Dawson's run, a popular smuggler route skirting the edge of the Drighton nebula.

As part of the incorporation of the sector into the Republic, a research station has been set up to study the phenomenon, and several navigational hazard warning buoys have been scattered through the area, to prevent accidents for both legitimate traffic and the less scrupulous individuals known to use the area.

The Wildstar Cluster -
Located near the center of the Drighton Terminus, the Wildstar Cluster is a system of four pulsar stars in extremely close proximity to each other. Despite the dangers, over the last few years several research stations - some corporate, some academic, have been set up in the Cluster to study the pulsars.
