Born to Teräs Kasi parents, her affinity for the Force was recognized by the only active Teräs Kasi with Force abilities, a man by name of Meshun. Her potential ability to manipulate the Force was slight but Meshun felt obliged to send her to the Jedi academy as she was the first Teräs Kasi child to show even that slight potential since he had been discovered by his own master. Meshun was a rigid man, living life to a strict set of standards he felt his student should also follow. Unfortunately for her, Nu-ada was incapable of learning the ways of the Force as quickly as Meshun thought she should, pinning the blame on lack of dedication rather than lack of raw ability to manipulate the Force. Eventually the whole mess did get straightened out and the two achieved a working relationship, though they never did become friends. At twenty Nu-ada reached the rank of Teräs Kasi Master and was sent by the Teräs Kasi with Meshun to face down a Dark-side Force user by name of DeRenti. In the battle that followed Meshun was killed and Nu-ada sacrificed her right hand to win the battle. The Jedi Council declared her apprenticeship over and Knighted her. Determined to prove her worth, she threw herself into her duty with a dedication that was unusual even in the rarefied halls of the Jedi School. One bright morning she woke, performed her morning work out and realized she had become her Master. More than a little disgusted with herself, Nu-ada set about reshaping herself into the irreverent, joyful imp of the perverse she is today. Almost needless to say, this has gotten her into a bit of trouble with the council on several occasions, especially in the early days of changing herself when she had a tendency to go just a wee bit overboard. Since then she has mellowed and the council has given up on the idea of suppressing her wild side - she is, no matter how wild, firmly wedded to the light side. Upon taking her first apprentice Nu-ada discovered the joy of teaching and, as that apprentice was more than somewhat clumsy, of healing. She learned to gently guide the young towards maturity and was granted the rank of Master when the full extent of that talent was revealed to the Council. And so the next few decades passed, her time spent in teaching, healing and combating the Dark-side using the skills gained from both the Jedi and Teräs Kasi. At 68 Nu-ada is known for many things. Her martial skills both with sabers and bare-handed, her dedication to teaching, her skill as a healer and her sense of irreverent humor. Though her martial skills are fading with age she is still quite formidable. And then there are the select few who know what she rarely admits to . . . how totally useless she is with things mechanical and technical. Neither Teräs Kasi or Jedi Council doubt her loyalty. To date she has trained up two Jedi Teräs Kasi, though only one still lives, and is in the process of training what has the potential of being one of the strongest Jedi the Teräs Kasi have had access to in generations. The fact that he's starting off a little slow in the Force bothers some, but not Nu-ada. When he is ready, he will blossom.
