Initially turned away by the Jedi order for a number of reasons (the least of which being that Jaxor had no aptitude with the Force whatsoever), Jaxor set out to prove that he was Jedi material. He studied martial arts under any number of dubious masters, he spent hours researching meditation techniques and religious followings, he learned sword work and fencing, he even got his hands on a cheap lightsaber knockoff from the Tapani sector. None of which impressed the Jedi council. Since through the course of his studies, Jaxor's path lead to more, he found himself on the mean streets of Shershalie, surrounded by a couple of thugs. As the confrontation escalated, and began to boil over into fight, one of the toughs spotted the lightsaber. The pair convinced themselves that they were messing with a Jedi, and that was WAY out of their league. Suddenly Jaxor hit upon an idea. He concluded that if the Jedi were not going to take him, he would go and be one anyway. Realizing that scared folks part with their money easier, he set about building a Dark Jedi persona. The plan was, after acquiring some particular gadgets and some extensive setting up, Jaxor and his gang (which consisted of two friends who often operate as partners in the crowd) would arrive on a remote backwater planet. Once there, they would scare the local populace into parting with some credits, lest he whup whatever puny resistance the villagers could offer and enslave them all. Much to everyone's great surprise, the plan worked. Since then, through careful selection of his targets (usually frontier rim worlds with little in the way of firepower and lots in the way of superstition) Jaxor and his friends have made a comfortable living. If the Jedi order was a washout, this is a close second. Jaxor has two companions to assist in his various doings - Brenna Rathor, a teenage girl from Lorrd, and ASP-29-D, an Industrial Automaton ASP droid that has been severely modified and upgraded to almost genius level intelligence. Dee goes into the target town ahead of time and sets up the props as appropriate (nobody EVER notices a droid), while Brenna acts as the straight man in the crowd, lookout, and overall backwatcher as necessary. Despite their strange diversity, the three work well together and manage to make out well. After a run-in with the Drighton Terminus Padawans, Jaxor was put out of business. Although he and his band were . . . disreputable they were not without redeming qualities - so the Jedi masters went easy on them. As part of their punishment, the three were forced into community service at the Jedi Academy. There, they help train Padawans to think out of the box, to realize that not all solutions require use of the Force. Not quite what Jaxor was looking for - but it will do. Whether he completely gives up his shady ways of life, however - well that remains to be seen. . . .
