This site is dedicated to the development of screenwriters, often the least recognized in the collaborative process of filmmaking. After spending several months cut off from friends and family to write, then being asked to cut away the meat of your script, you're seemingly cut from the "creative team". Rarely are you given a meaningful cut of the box office take and often seem cut loose from a process that started with your script. The collaborative result may be cut down by critics who blame the writer for failing to convey a singular vision. To add insult to injury, "your" movie is recut and rereleased as the "Director's Cut" to show the world what the director originally intended, an opportunity a non-hyphenate writer has yet to receive. If, after reading this, you still yearn to be lucky enough to feel the pain of that first cut, then this site is for you.
In order to sell your screenplay you need two things: a good screenplay, and people (of influence) to read it. Here you'll find information about the way potential buyers analyze screenplays so you can use the same yardstick on your own work when considering rewrites, protecting your work before sending it to agents or potential buyers, and links to resources to help you along the way.
