Southtowne Auto Rebuild has been in operation since 1972. The owners have been involved in the collision repair industry since 1963. They are each committed to quality repair for their customers. Their philosophy has always been to "exceed the customers perceived expectations." It is a philosophy they live and operate their business by.
Mike
began his career at Emily Griffith Opportunity School in Denver, Colorado in
1963. He attended the Auto Body Repair Course there and upon leaving, began his
career in the field working in several shops before making a down payment on the
property their shop is located on in 1972.
Mike feels that he was very fortunate to have worked with some of the industry's best craftsmen prior to beginning his own business. They instilled in him a love for his trade and pride in accomplishment for a job well done.
Mike was selected as Collision Repair Technician of the Year in
1992 for the United States and Canada by the
Institute of Automotive Service
Excellence (A.S.E.) based on scores he achieved in
recertification tests.
Mike has also been active in his industry. He is a past-president
of the Autobody Craftsman Association
and serves on committees within the association when asked. He is currently the
welding examiner in Western Washington for I-Car (Inter-Industry Council on
Autobody Repair)
.
He is on the national Board of Directors for the Institute of Automotive
Service Excellence based in Herndon, Virginia.
Mike works every day repairing collision damaged vehicles that customers have brought to Southtowne Auto Rebuild for their level of quality expertise in automotive collision repair. Mike is "craftsman technician" who loves and takes great pride in his craft.
Donna and Mike were married in 1963 and they have three daughters. Donna became involved in collision repair at almost the same time that Mike did. She has worked as a paint prep technician, receptionist, first aid specialist, bookkeeper, office manager, parts specialist, damage estimation and above all, public relations expert. Her specialty is dealing with people, and she is good at it, whether it be the anxious customer, worried about their damaged prized vehicle, or the insurance adjuster representing the best interests of the company they work for.
The
reason she is good at dealing with people is because she truly likes them and
her open personality comes across that way too. People like her also. She is
good at establishing a rapport with them that makes the difficult chores of
claims handling and collision repair seem nearly pleasurable. Sound
far-fetched? It's not, because she cares.
Donna has also been very active in her industry and her community. She has a strong belief that we should not just receive from our society but also endeavor to improve it.
She is a past-president of the Autobody Craftsman Association of
Washington state and has served as chairperson of several committees and
continues to do so. She is also active in organizations within the City of
Tukwila, making a sincere effort
to make her community a better place for
everyone to live.
Donna is a "people person" who cares.
