Letters to Trace

What a great world we live in where the average Joe can communicate with his favorite TV personality and actually get a response! Here are some e-mail messages I have sent Trace and his responses. My letters are in normal text, Trace's responses are in Brush Script, for those of you not using Internet Explorer, Trace's responses are also double indented.

...Well, I can't really say I blame you, Frank was a great sidekick, Forrester seems lost without him, Mother Pearl is not a very good idea in my humble opinion. Oh well, perhaps the next permutation will be like something out of a fever dream. Some giant mutated penguin is holding Mother Pearl in a pickle jar and communicates telepathically to the SOL which is in a state of Quasi-molecular flux after having been exposed to a stream of inverted tetryons eminating from a tertiary subspace manifold, then everyone wakes up.. and Dr. Forrester is now played by Jef Maynard and Frank is played by Jim Mallone, Mike would have to handle crow's voice as well as his own (Hmmm, this could make host segments pretty tricky!) Maybe crow can have a sex change and be voiced by Bridget Jones. Or better yet, maybe we can leave crow a male and give Bridget a sex change, although Mike might have something to say about it. Hmmm, sorry I'm babbling.. I wish you wouldn't leave... :~(

Ok, ok... Assuming you picked this one to read out of the probable thousands of "Please don't go" letters, I'll let you go.

Dear Online Lobster,

Thank you for taking the time to write. It is obvious that you have given the show a special place in your heart. I'm glad to have been a part of the show for all these many years. This show has touched us all in many ways and I will miss being a part of it.

You have some very provocative ideas reguarding the show. We'll all have to wait and see what the heck will happen.

Thanks again

Trace

Thanks for the reply! I'm in the process of creating an MST 3K section on my webpage, would you mind if I posted your e-mail in there somewhere (Kind of like the 90's verion of framing a autographed picture)? Gee, while on the subject, I wonder if it's entirely legal to put as much of the Dialogue and lyrics of the episodes as I do in my reviews.

I mostly just do the neat songs and Host Segments. then put in a word about my favorite lines. Kind of like a really big episode guide, I plan to have cross refferencing pages so people can find what they're looking for quickly. I read the faq about not putting up pictures and sound and such, I just have mostly text in the context of reviews.

Anyhow, if you have time and aren't burned out on the 300,000+ pages out there about MST 3K please drop by, let me know what you think and if I'm quoting more dialogue than would be comfortably legal.

Thanks for your time!

Dear Lobster,

Can't answer your question about putting stuff up on-line. I'n not really sure what is appropriate. Sounds like a a question to ask BBI.

Hi Trace!

Unfortunately I was unable to go to the Conventiocon 2 Electric Bugaloo... BUT I've acquired a video tape of the whole thing and it is hilarious! I'm *really* going to miss you! But I look forward to see what Best Brains comes up with! :) Will you be appearing in at least one more transitional episode where you get to say bye?

Well I know you're a busy guy so I'll let you go, I was wondering also if there's any way I could get an autograph from you? It need not be on a picture, what I was planning on doing is taking the message and signature and superimposing it over a picture using Adobe Photoshop, then putting it up on my MST 3K website! I don't know if you do that or not, of course if you charge $$ for it I'd be willing to pay.

Thank you Crow, and Dr. Forrester.. for making us laugh about love, again.

And if you will, check out my largly incomplete yet still meatier than most web site at http://www.isomedia.com/homes/lobster .

Thanks, and enjoy! :)

OH!! I've been visiting the Sci-Fi website, and participating in the "Caption this" part... I've only done one caption but I think it's pretty funny, it's attached in a JPG format

Caption This!

Nope. That's it. The end. I'll not be back. Sorry but that's all folks.Abiout the autograph thingy, I have no idea how to do this. Would I scan athing in or not or what?

Oh, well I was working off the assumption that you didn't have a scanner and if you were willing I'd humbly ask that you mail me a blank sheet of paper with an autograph and whatever message you saw fit to write, I would then scan that, and superimpose it over a picture and put it on my website. However, if you already have a scanner you can save me a step by scanning the paper and e-mailing me the file. :)

Thanks! And if you'd rather just send it by mail let me know, I'll give you my address.

Ummm... I saw Moon Zero Two this week for the first time... Man that was hilarious!

Actor: You can't tell this man anything about anything
Crow: But feel free to tell him something about nothing or a little about a lot.

Tee hee!

I look forward to seeing you in other things! You're a comedic genius, like Dennis Miller or Steven Wright... Only more upbeat and positive! Wherever you go you're going to be the best at what you do. OK, I'll cut this short before I officially "go all gooey" as Kevin Murphy would say!

This autograph thing s me in a bit of a quandry. I don't have a problem signing something in person, but this sound too high tech. for me. Oh, callme old fashion. I just, you know. I don't know.

There I think I've waffled on this issue long enough.

Trace

Well, those are they... the way it worked out was, I scanned Trace's signature in the book, extracted it with the magic wand in Adobe Photoshop, made it lighter and turned it into a watermark on this page. (I hope you don't mind, Trace)
