Mike Nelson the person as opposed to Mike Nelson the character, has a very well defined and likable personality (Judging from what he was like at the Conventiocon II: Electric Boogaloo) from the impatient yet playful "Come on, hobble your butt on over here" as the umpteenth MSTie dressed as Torgo slowly shuffled his way across the stage, to the way he stood up and playfully stared down some guy who was hitting on Bridget Jones not knowing she's married to Mike. Of course those of us who did know found it funny.

I can't help but wonder what Mike was doing before he was writing for MST 3K, where did all that talent come from? Before MST 3K I'd never heard of Mike Nelson yet he is head writer for what could very well be the most hilarious show (aside from Fawlty Towers maybe?) ever created for television. He says on the making of MST 3K (For the Sci-Fi Channel) that he used to work at TGI Friday's but I'm pretty sure that's a joke. I guess we won't know more about him until he tells us!

Even before appearing onscreen as Mike Nelson, Mike played a variety of reoccurring bit parts like Hugh Beaumont, Glen Manning and a slew of others! In Season 801 he also plays Dr. Peanut, one of Pearl's ape assistants
