Joel Hodgson

I've never met Joel, so I can't really tell you what he's like. I can tell you what he's done though. Before he was Joel Robinson on MST 3K, he was a standup comedian. A prop comic not unlike Carrot top or Mark Putz. He's appeared on Saturday Night Live and The David Letterman show.

His co-workers at Best Brains refer to him as "Joel the unknowable" (But also Joel the Wise and Joel the helpful). I haven't really been able to establish what Joel is like outside of character. From his appearance on Space Ghost coast to coast one would think he's a lot like his character on MST 3K, only not as naive or nice. According to his website, Beck is his favorite artist.

Joel is currently working on a film called Statical Planets, as well as serving as Magic consultant on a show about a teenage witch. In response to the question of if he'll ever return to MST 3K to make a guest appearance, he responded that he had not been invited to. Which is encouraging news in light of the fact that the show's new premis allows for time travel to a point in time when Joel was still around.
