Awesome Amateur Astronomy Web Pages
- Matt BenDaniel's Starmatt Page Matt has
some very impressive wide angle astrophoto's as well as some beautiful galaxy
shots.
- Chuck Vaughn's Astronomy Page Chuck is one of the best amateur astrophotographers around. He specializes in using Kodak TechPan black and white film and his images are second to none.
- Tony Hallas' Astro Photo Tony is one of the most respected and admired amateur's around. With years of darkroom experience and now using digital enhancement techniques Tony's work is inspirational.
- Robert Gendler's Astroimaging Homepage
Robert has some of the best color CCD images I have ever seen. They are
the first CCD images that rival the best film images.
- Jason Ware's Galaxy Photography Jason's astrophotography may be some of the most published for any amateur. He uses Meade telescopes exclusively and is a master in the darkroom.
- Jerry Lodriguss' Astronomical Images Jerry's astrophotography shows color saturation and dynamic range like few others. He is a master of digital enhancement.
- Philip's Perkins Astronomy Page Philip's astrophotography is simply beautiful. His webpage is a fantastic resource for valuable information. His article on using the Lumicon Giant Easy Guider has helped me considerably.
- Wil Milan's Astrophotography Gallery
Wil has some stunning astrophotography using a Takahashi FS102 refractor and a Celestron Ultima-11.
- Robert Reeves Celestial Photography Robert's webpage is packed with very useful information about everything from films, darkroom work to tips using a Schmidt Camera.
- Astronomical Imaging by Brad Wallis and Robert Provin Brad and Robert use large format film with an Astro-Physics refractor, the results are stunning. Brad also works with Adaptive Optics to achieve resolution previously unattainable by an amateur.
- Ian Turner's Astrophotography and CCD Web Page Many nice photographic and CCD images. A cornucopia of useful articles and tips for astrophotography including a very good and honest critique of different telescopes he has used.
- Yuuji Kitahara's Astrophotography Gallery Mr. Kitahara's uses a first class 16" reflector in his first class observatory to achieve professional looking images.
- Mikkel Steine's Astronomy Page Mikkel's astrophotography is very impressive. His webpage is very professional and packed with great information about observing.
- Howard C. Anderson's Astrophotography Howard is the master of long exposures on his Meade 10" LX200. There are also several great articles on astrophotography. Of course there is the famous cow lick picture too.
- James Foster's Astronomy Resource Page Lots of great comet and galaxy pictures. James also shares his astrophotography bloopers and points out how to not do it.
- Ed Stewart's Astro Designs Probably the single best site for technical information on telescope design and modification. Ed has really gone out of his way to document a lot of his vast knowledge.
- Thierry Legault's CCD Imaging Some of the highest resolution images I have ever seen of the moon and planets from an Earth bound telescope of any size.
- Stephen Girimont's Astrophotography Web Page Stephen's webpage is very clean and sharp. It inspired the look of my new webpage design. Stephen specializes in photoillustration where he uses Bryce to make 3D images and combines them with his astrophotography.
- Dan Bakken's Home Page From Dan's 41" scope I have easily seen the Horsehead and observed M51 like no other scope since. Check out the largest portable amateur telescope I've ever seen (perhaps in the world).
- Alfredo Zanazzo's Astrophotography Web Page Alfredo uses a 1600mm f/4 Concentric Schmidt Cassegrain to produce some exceptionally nice wide field astrophotos.
- Bob's Astronomy Web Page Bob uses a Meade 10" LX200 and a Pictor 416 CCD camera to get some pretty nice shots. He also has pictures of his home made observatory.
