Friends, Associates & Neighbors
This is a small start on some of the characters we used that are somehow related to the Thatramorian people. There will certainly be more added, and some of these may be modified, so stay tuned.
Most of the characters listed here are PCs, and information given is as of the last game that we played in this part of our universe. When these characters were actually played, many of the numbers given for stats were probably lower, and some of the information listed in their descriptions would not have occurred yet. While I still ask that you not reproduce these characters anywhere, you are certainly welcome to borrow and/or modify any of these folks for use in your own game if you so choose. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to e-mail me at the address listed on the main page.
Jared Tailslasher
Height: 1.54 m
Status: Snappy dresser
Classification: Coriolen
Affiliation: Whatever tickles his fancy (and, of course, his friends)
Weapon of Choice: Lightsaber
History: Jared Tailslasher was born the son of a tribal chief on a backwater planet. Early on the potential for Force use was seen in him and he was sent to train with the local wise one. Since that time Jared has had the distinction of being expelled by more masters than any other known force user.
Jared was rescued from his planet of Coriolis by Sidney Sausage who crashed on the swamp world soon after Jared's second master's death. His master had taught Jared the non-traditional ways of the Teboran Jedi, a severe deviation from his tribal training, and later traditional education. Despite the efforts of all his future teachers: Elisar, Yoda, Fenton, the nameless tribal mystic, and an unknown wizened master, only the teachings of his Teboran master Krynn Albot truly stuck with him. All others exiled him from their lessons soon after taking him in, which many did only reluctantly in the first place.
Jared's main goals in life have been predominantly to hunt down the minions of the evil Empire, who drove Krynn to an early grave. In his trademark Neon Orange, Lime Green, and Electric Blue clothes, Jared has scourged the universe making enemies on all sides. Jared ultimately was a major factor in the downfall of the Empire and the death of Darth Vader. Only his arch nemesis, and sometime business partner, Desslok, truly realized the danger Jared presented before it was too late. Jared has since retired from the New Republic and after some unsuccessful attempts at entrance into the business world, including a joint casino with Desslok, who later blew it up, he has settled into a life of wandering and adventure seeking. He occasionally stops by Avensora to brighten (read complicate) life for the folks there.

Rhyssa Ke'Sahndhran
Height: 1.6 m
Status: Commander, New Republic Navy
Classification: Corellian
Affiliation: New Republic, Chaos Crew, family
Weapon of Choice: Anything - she's an engineer
History: Rhys' parents joined up with the Alliance early on, and Rhys cut her teeth repairing fighters and equipment for the Rebels. She rose quickly through the ranks, though she never paid much attention to advancing her career, or to anything beyond the state of the equipment needed to defeat the Empire. This changed when she was suddenly assigned to the Chaos Crew. After six months of daily transfer requests, she suddenly discovered that this was where she was meant to be (clinched by the successful theft of a Star Destroyer by her team, of course.)
Rhys evolved into something more than a simple engineer through sheer survival necessity. Often the most underestimated member of the team, she worked hard to stay that way, as it left her more room to get the job done. She's become intensely loyal to the Crew, or what's left of it these days, on a level rivaling her loyalty to the Republic.
The Chaos Crew eventually disbanded, due both to attrition and to the defeat of the Empire - they were no longer needed enough to justify the unorthodox means and expense. Rhys spent some time as a solo operative, and here she ran into trouble when Desslok suddenly arrived on her doorstep. He needed her help to get to his daughter, and to her adopted daughter as well in time to save them. A month-long voyage and a bottle of scotch later, Rhys was pregnant. This was a bit of a problem, and something she hid for as long as she could. Things were even more complicated by the fact that she and Desslok both came to care for each other - from opposite sides of the war. Desslok was serving Thrawn, who was intent on dismantling the Republic. Rhys did the only thing she could - she hid the children she gave birth to, and continued to work for the Republic.
Today, with Desslok back to serving the Light, she has resigned her commission, married Desslok, and is absorbed in being a mother and training Thatramorians as rapidly as possible in both engineering and combat for the upcoming Kryd war.
Rhys is rather serious, with a definite twist of odd humor. She is incredibly loyal to her friends, and still extremely loyal to the Republic, despite the appearance some of her choices may give. She is especially close to Jared Tailslasher and Sidney Sausage. Able to take on almost any task, her main goal in life has never changed - fix anything, anywhere, anytime.
Rene Jones
Height: 1.26 m
Status: New Republic Marine Sergeant, Reserve Status
Classification: Residian
Affiliation: New Republic
Weapon of Choice: Lightsaber, Marine issue Pulse Laser rifle
History: Ren has crammed a lot of experience into a relatively short life. Conceived in a closet as her mother, Anita Jones, distracted a stormtrooper from a teammate, Ren has done her best to live up to her unorthodox beginning. The first two years of her life were spent with her grandfather, Admiral Harrison Jones, as her mother discovered that taking an infant/toddler on missions was a wee bit dangerous. As a result, Ren got to know the inner council of the Alliance quite well very early on.
Because Ren has an absolute talent for finding trouble, whether she's trying to consciously or not, her mother chose to enlist her in the New Republic Marines. This was at the tender age of four - with the Residian trait of early advanced growth, about the equivalent of twelve years old. While this was perhaps a bit harsh, Ren learned her lessons well, even joining with the Chaos Crew (a team of specialists) for their last few missions before they disbanded.
Ren has survived the Rebellion, the birth pangs of the Republic, the attentions of the dark and evil Jedi Moradin Thrall, and keeping up with her best friend, Dayana. She is currently attending the University on Mrrrlyst, trying to figure out how to fit in with civilian life. When not studying, or procrastination, Ren can usually be found on Avensora with Dayana, either kidnapping her friend for a vacation, or putting in her two cents on the training of the Thatramorian Marines.
Ren is adventurous and impulsive, and a great deal more thoughtful and intelligent than her sometimes brash exterior would lead you to believe. She's a great believer in using whatever is at hand, and is constantly trying and practicing unorthodox techniques, as a Marine, a Jedi, and anywhere else in her life that seems appropriate. She is strong in the ways of the Force, but has not devoted her attention exclusively enough to become a full Jedi Knight, preferring to remain more of a generalist. She is extremely loyal to her family and to her friends, and while she has resigned her commission as a New Republic Marine, she has retained her sense of duty to the Republic. She can usually be seen with a droid, Saki, in tow, who was assigned early on by Rhyssa Ke'Sahndhran to protect the young Ren.

Dawn
Height: 1.58 meters
Status: Gutter Rat, and Dayana's assistant/self-appointed bodyguard
Classification: ?! - Human, more or less
Affiliation: Herself, friends, food
Weapon of Choice: Daggers
History: Where Dawn comes from is a mystery, and on most days she doesn't really care. At one point she got curious about the unique abilities she possesses and has been the mind-twisting project of a top geneticist every since.
Dawn isn't sure exactly what she is, but so far she's tracked down traces of Residian, Defel, Coyn, and a smattering of various humanoid races - in short, she shouldn't exist. The practical effects that she's aware of so far include vision that extends into the infrared and ultraviolet - Dawn wears sunglasses most of the time, and is sensitive to bright light. She's extremely strong and fast, and excellent at sneaking around.
Despite all of the genetic advantages Dawn has, there are some weaknesses. She has no memories before the streets of Residia, where life began when she was (at her best guess) about five years old. All attempts to probe before that first day have ended in frustration. She spent the next eight years running with a child gang, staying away from the authorities, before breaking off on her own. The next several months were spent quietly making friends and safe havens. Having spent her entire life avoiding well-meaning government schools and the foster system, Dawn was illiterate, and lacking any technical skills.
Life changed the day she snuck into the Atrium to avoid a persistent truancy officer. Relaxing in a tree, casually carving a piece of said tree, Dawn spotted assassins attacking a person she'd seen a few times on the holovids. Not liking eight-to-one odds, Dawn jumped into the fray, plunging her knives into two backs as the attackee suddenly flourished a lightsaber. It quickly became obvious that the odds were never even close to even . . . for the attackers, as Dawn and the other figure sliced their way through the eight assassins in less than thirty seconds.
"Nice work with the blades," she was told. "I like the glowstick . . . Princess," came the reply, and from this violent and irreverent beginning came an improbable friendship that would be the bane of many an adversary and befuddle more than one of Dayana's associates and subjects.
The first priority in Dawn's life will always be the survival of herself and her friends. The second is food, and the third is trying to keep Dayana planted firmly in the "real world." She is far more pragmatic and cynical than her friend. Dawn treats the universe with an offhand irreverence so entrenched that even terror cannot dislodge it. A serious effort is required on her part to attain a respectful attitude, and maintaining one is doomed to failure . . . she usually doesn't even try.
