This section holds the history of my web site. Some of the links are no longer active. I keep this document around because it seems to be the most logical way to keep track of things...

February 20, 2000

  • I updated Alaso's age on the website, she turned 20 on Feb. 3! I also felt that some folks might wonder why I'm still sponsoring her now that she's essentially an adult. So, I added the page, 20???
  • I also added info. about Alaso's New Cow.
  • I also corrected a bit on the page about Usmani in the Sponsors' Photo Album... Sarah wanted me to correct the fact that *she's* not sponsoring Usmani, her family is...
  • I've caught up on keeping the Site Map up to date.
  • Finally, I've returned the photo of Asma & Me to the main page of the site. It may be old, but I missed it there. I guess it'll just be the logo of the site... I've put the newer picture on the page about me.

  • Yet another update about Maya. This one holds quite a good surprise! However, I'm still in the middle of one big lesson in patience...

  • I've recently replaced my "geriatric computer" so hopefully I'll be able to make updates more often. (At least as soon as I figure out why I'm having such trouble uploading...)
  • I've added 2 kids to the Sponsors' Photo Album... One is the sponsored child of Larry and Sue, whose website has long been listed in Links to Folks Who Have Linked to Me... and the other is the brand-new sponsored child of one of my best friends, Sarah.
  • I've reworked the page about Husna, because it was *really* bad. :) (Always the English major, I guess...)
  • I added some new photos on Sangeeta's page. She's my mom's wonderful sponsored child and is listed in the Sponsors' Photo Album...
  • I also added newer photos of Wellington and of Asma.
  • Once again, there's a small update about Maya. No good news, but I haven't given up. I've also added a new photo of Maya and her little brother, Sunni.
  • Finally, I've reworked the page, Where Does My Sponsored Child Live?: Internet References, adding useful new links and removing others that weren't so useful.
October 17, 1999
  • Just little changes today... I've made changes on the main page to reflect the fact that I have now visited *16* CCF projects. Eventually, I'll add a report about my recent trip to 3 projects in Montana.
  • I've also added a link to one of the projects that I visited on the page, Is There an Official CCF Web Site?
  • Finally, if you're *really*alert, you'll note that I edited the photo of Asma, Husna, and I on the main page . The background color of the photo was clashing with the pretty cloud background of the page.

  • I've added a new update about Maya to the page Angie Believes in Miracles..., and renamed it, Angie Still Believes in Miracles... Unfortunately, the news this time isn't so good. I still have hope for my beloved little angel, but right now I'm devastated. If you've been following the story of Maya, please pray for her.
  • I've updated the sponsorship cost on the page How Can You Become a Sponsor? FYI, if you're already a sponsor, the cost of your sponsorship will not change unless you voluntarily make that change.
  • I've removed some dead links from the page Links to Folks Who Have Linked to Me...
  • I found a much better web site for CCF Great Brittain, and added it to the page Is There an Official CCF Web Site? You'll also note that the Official CCF web site has undergone a revamp. It's great! Surf on over and take a look!
  • I've made minor updates to the page about me... and more updates to the page about Husna.
  • I've also changed the photo at the top of the main page of this site. After nearly 3 years, I figured that it was time... The new photo is from last November of me with 2 of my beloved girls, Asma & Husna.
  • Finally, I've added a couple of bits to the News & Notes... section.

  • After a long respite, I'm back to making some updates. Things have been pretty chaotic for me for a while (bought a house, major reorganization at work, an important houseguest...) and I'm excited to have a chance to make some updates on the site that I've been planning for a while.
  • I've added a Gallery of Wise Words..., adding new quotes and moving the others there. As I find them, I'll be adding things that I find especially meaningful.
  • I've removed my rantings and ravings about the "evil" Chicago Tribune :) for now in preparation for a section called, "What About Criticism?"
  • I've added a wonderful update that I wrote a few weeks ago (but forgot to upload ) about Maya to the page Angie Believes in Miracles.... It seems that every time I begin to lose hope, I receive encouraging news.
  • After visiting India this past November, I realized that the story, "The Three Little Pigs", is not really appropriate for my Stories page. It's a great story, for the right audience, but not necessarily appropriate for kids who may not have any option other than to build out of sticks... Therefore, the lesson of doing your best turns itself into a bit of an insult in certain circumstances... I should have thought of this earlier. I apologize if I've led anyone astray... Not surprisingly, I've removed that story from the page.

  • I've added some more new photos to the section Faces of CCF... I've also replaced a few of the missing ones with better scans of the photos.
February 11, 1999
  • I've finally added information about contacting CCF in Canada to the section How Can You Become a Sponsor?.
  • I'm completely redoing the section Faces of CCF... The scans in it were really bad, because my scanner is on its last legs. I found a great scanner at a local library, and am scanning photos as fast as I can. So, I've removed the old photos from this section, and replaced them with new ones from my most recent trip. I'll replace the photos that were in the section as soon as I can. The section also has a change in organization in order to make the coding less cumbersome.
  • I've added a page called Oh How the Years Go By... to show how much a group of lovely girls have grown between my first and second trips to India.
  • The photos of Husna on her pages Husna - India have been rescanned and are much better.
  • Also, Alaso had a birthday! She's now nineteen, and I've made changes to reflect that...
  • Finally, I've fixed various typos and mistakes that I've found. If you see any, please let me know.

  • Tonight I added just a few photos to the page, Angie's 1998 Trip to India & Thailand... Hopefully you'll see more changes/additions soon.
  • Also, Husna had a birthday! She's now seven, and I've made changes to reflect that...

  • I added photos and information about Husna, my new sponsored child. (Unfortunately, my scanner isn't working properly, so until I repair or replace it, the photos won't look terribly wonderful.)
  • I changed information about Asma to reflect her current status.
  • To the section Angie's 1998 Trip to India & Thailand..., I added the text from the emails I sent to friends and family during my trip.
  • I fixed the Site Map to reflect recent changes.

  • A new section has been added to the main page that includes my trips to visit CCF Projects.
  • I added access to photos from my 1996 trip to India.
  • I added a listing for Husna, my new sponsored child... There isn't anything there for her yet, but will be added soon.
  • I added a few comments to News & Notes...

  • Asma and Wellington had birthdays in September. I changed references to their ages...
  • Due to the fact that I'll be leaving for India in a few days, I removed the offer to visit sponsored children...

  • I'm beginning to add a section called Faces of CCF... It is a gallery of some of the photos that I've taken on my visits to CCF projects. There are quite a few thumbnails on the main page, but there aren't yet links to the larger pictures. Those'll come ASAP. (FYI, the current photos in this section are from Mexico. This is your first glimpse of my June trip to Mexico City. The "report" will show up as soon as I can manage it...) :) I think this section will more than make up for the space I saved by the deletions that I made last week... :) Unfortunately, my scanner is not working well, so the quality of the scans is not very good. Hopefully I'll be able to get it working better soon.
  • I also made a minor change to the page about me... My 30th (Yikes!!!) birthday was on Saturday, so I figured I'd better make that change... :) My beloved cat, Kara, also had a birthday... She's 17 now.

  • Finally, new updates... :) Today I'm adding a new section called, Did You Know??? in which I share facts that I've learned about CCF and child sponsorship. This is just a beginning for this section, and it'll be expanded, corrected, and improved for a while...
  • I've also added a link to CCF Mexico's web site on the page Is There an Official CCF Web Site?

  • I've revised the information on the T-Shirt pages to reflect that the CCF T-Shirts have arrived and are currently in the hands of the USPS on their way to the requestors! A second run will be made if you'd like to request one. Any future runs will depend upon interest...

  • Today I spent some time adding to and improving my telling of My Trip to Visit Asma in India...
  • I've also made some very small changes to the formatting of several pages on the site. I learned a new HTML trick today... If you figure out what I've changed, you'll get a valueless prize... :)
  • What would a day be recently without a new reference to the Chicago Tribune? I've added a few comments to News & Notes...

  • Once again, I've made an addition to the suggestions in Why Angie is Mad at the Chicago Tribune... I intend to keep this section up for a little while, and I'm thinking about how to develop it from "my venting of a Sunday night" to something that can be more efficiently organized.
  • I've also added a section for News & Notes... regarding this web site, and other related bits that don't seem to fit anywhere else... You'll likely see comments about things I saw in CCF's ChildWorld newsletter, updates on my CCF T-shirt project and other grand plans that my brain conjures up, updates on my actions and thoughts regarding the articles of the Chicago Tribune. As is common with me, the organization of this section will likely change as I figure out how to make it useful.
March 16, 1998 - Evening
  • I've made a few changes this evening to the page Why Angie is Mad at the Chicago Tribune... A friend made some good suggestions to help clarify and de-babble it.
  • I also uploaded the rest of the pictures of my 1996 trip to India. Many of the photos do not have direct links to them, but you can view them by inputting the individual URLs for each picture. For example, photo number 21 will be <http://www.isomedia.com/homes/awin/CCF/India21.jpg> The photos that are not yet a part of the "report" are numbers 21 through 60, not including 27 and 36. Feel free to take a look if you like.

  • Added the first photo of a sponsor to Chamari's Page in the Sponsors' Photo Album... As I am able and according to the sponsors' wishes, I'll be including photos of the sponsors in the Sponsors' Photo Album. Sponsors are, after all, an important part of the equation, and just regular folks like anyone else...

  • Added a quote from Gandhi to the main page. I recently saw it for the first time, and really liked it. It not only calls us to action, but reminds me that all steps toward change - even little ones - are significant. We simply have to *do* it...

  • Added Mary to the Sponsors' "Photo Album"...
  • Added a new section called What Do You Think about this Web Site?
  • I also changed background colors on several pages, some of which were frightful... :)
  • I flip-flopped the children in the Sponsors' Photo Album so that the newest additions are now on top.
  • I've also started making some changes to the web site that reflect my now greater understanding of the Internet and the World Wide Web. For example, this site has been called "Angie's Very Own CCF Home Page" from the very beginning. It's probably more appropriate for it to be titled, "Angie's Very Own CCF Web Site", so I'm making that change. Most of these types of changes will be quite small, because I think it is important to keep the informal, unprofessional feel of the site. Although it's my hope for this site to continue to grow and change, you're not likely to see a lot of hot, new code until it's well-established and available on most browsers, without plug-ins. After all, I am just a sponsor who wants to share about CCF, not an html wizard...

  • Added a new tip to the Tips for Letter Writing...
  • Changed the ages for Wellington and Asma on the site. They both had birthdays in September!

  • Began using the Help!! icon to indicate sections in which I'd particularly like input from others.
  • Added an improved scan of the CCF Logo to the Main Page

  • Added a new photo to Sangeeta's page, who is a sponsored child featured in the Sponsors' "Photo Album"...
  • Added a new photo of Wellington on his main page. (My has he grown in the last year!)
  • Reorganized the section formerly called, "Action Plan & Opinions from Me..." into a hopefully more logical and useful format. It is now split into two sections, "Action Plan (What Can *You* Do?)" and "Opinions from Me..."
  • Began a new section called Help Spread the Word..., which will likely receive some changes in the near future.
  • Made various cosmetic changes to the site which may likely not even be noticed... :)
